R ecently there was a news in the local daily "The Shillong Times", published from Shillong Meghalaya regarding issuing of trading license to the Non-Tribal. Since the inception of Meghalaya as an independent state in the year 1971 the the cold war between the Non-Tribal and Local Tribe begun. Sometimes the fight took a fierce shape during 1987-88 and till date the cold war is still going on ( however we pretend to be together). The recent rule or the law is not to allow trading license to the Non-Tribal. Before that let me define you who are the Non-Tribal: A Non-tribal is a person who is not Khasi, Garo or Jaintia.
