Melasma
– Cause, symptoms and cure
As I was going through various article on
the internet. I realized that there is no known cure for Melasma. You may or
may not know what is Melasma. Here is a picture.
Melasma is a skin condition where you may
notice darkening of your skin which just refuses to clean. This happen mostly
on face. The dark spots spreads all over the face in a period. Neither
medicines or chemicals will help you get rid of Melasma.
Science says, there is no evidence how Melasma
occur. I have realized that Melasma happen due to changes in harmonic and
acidic behavior inside your body. Your food habits, sleep and exposure to sun
plays a vital role in developing Melasma.
So, why or how Melasma develops.
Cause
Melasma is a common skin problem that
causes brown to gray patches on face. The cause is of course food habits and
irregular sleep for men. Excessive sun exposure is also considered to be the
cause of melasma. Melasma can occur due
to two reasons.
1. During pregnancy: Mostly due to hormones seem to trigger melasma.
However, these are just theories and there is no accurate scientific reason
available.
2. Common: Where it is appearing either on men or women face.
The reason dermatologist concluded the
cause to be associate with sun or UV, the reason being, it appears mostly on
face. Most of our body parts are covered but face. Hence, face becomes
vulnerable to melasma.
Symptoms
As mentioned earlier, the symptoms can be
seen directly on face. Brown or gray patches which spreads over a period. It
can also appear on other parts of the body that may have a lots of sun
exposure, such as the forearms and neck.
Cure
Medicines available in market to cure
melasma is a scam. This is my opinion; these are full of chemicals and may not
be effective as desired. Most of these medicines are nothing but advance UV
protection cream. Here is how you can get rid of melasma. Please note, this is
my personal experience and it may not work to every skin type. However, it is
worth giving a shot.
1. If melasma developed during pregnancy.
a. Please do not give a shit about it. Once you deliver a baby and your
schedule is stable, this will automatically disappear. However, please do not
expose to excessive sun. Apply face cream that you were using previously.
2. Common Melasma – here is what you can do, try this schedule
a. Go expose to sun for 15 minutes daily between 6:30 to 7:30 am. Don’t
worry it is healthy, as it will help you develop vitamin D. It is required for
your body and skin
b. Take a bath and apply sunscreen cream on the areas which are
vulnerable to sun exposure. The reason being, sun light after 7:30 am onwards
may have greater UV presence and it won’t help skin churn vitamin D.
c. After every 3 hours wash your face and reapply sunscreen.
d. Make sure, whenever you go out cover your face or wear a wide brimmed
hat
e. Drink a lot of water during the day
f. Wash your face even before you go to bed and apply night cream/spot
reduction cream
g. Make sure your food has less of “masala” spices. Eat a lot of green
leafy vegetables, juicy fruits (not juice).
h. Sleep well. Effective sleep help relaxing body and skin. Sleep early
and wake up early.
I am sure having a healthy diet plan and
proper care will get melasma out of your life. Let me know if this worked for
