We the COMMON MAN. We the CRIMINALS. We the VICTIMS. Yesterday I had a little discussion with one of my hostel mate. He is preparing for his Civil Services and wanted me to take part in a discussion. I didn't have a hint about the topic, type or matter that we are to discuss. He said let’s talk about States. Here States doesn't mean The US, it is our own Indian states. Why people are fighting? How feasible it is to carve a new State or say smaller states? The discussion was a little wayward but worth discussing. He initiated by giving me a hint to talk about. Lately, I was trying hard to figure out how to get rid of timeline. Its not because I don't like it, but my friends asked me to remove from their FB. R ecently there was a news in the local daily "The Shillong Times", published from Shillong Meghalaya regarding issuing of trading license to the Non-Tribal. Since the inception of Meghalaya as an independent state in the year 1971 the the cold war between the Non-Tribal and Local Tribe begun. Sometimes the fight took a fierce shape during 1987-88 and till date the cold war is still going on ( however we pretend to be together). The recent rule or the law is not to allow trading license to the Non-Tribal. Before that let me define you who are the Non-Tribal: A Non-tribal is a person who is not Khasi, Garo or Jaintia. Why Non Tribal? The most apt reason to take away all the minor right of the people so that only Tribal can run business, own land, buy or sell land, so that the non-tribal becomes only their customer or would be treated as the tourist.
